MPI’s packaging systems offer a full line of complimentary packaging solutions producing unit dose packages made specifically to assist the long term care (LTC) and extended care (EC) pharmacy. Our systems minimize medication errors and are welcomed by nurses because they simplify the process of medication administration.

MPI has positioned our LTC/EC oral solid packaging solutions to compliment the traditional blister-bingo card packages as well as to compliment packaging operations that have embraced automated dispensing systems and/or multi-dose applications. MPI’s Auto-Print™ packaging system for oral solids is very well suited for high run, complimentary packages not available through automated dispensing systems which include stored canisters that are packaged to dispense an order. High-volume drugs may not be best suited for packaging with automated dispensing systems as the medications will have to be replenished frequently or will occupy several canisters limiting the amount of on-board drug types. The LTC pharmacy may also not want to store small volume or unique drugs on board the automated dispensing system, taking up valuable space for these infrequent packaging needs. MPI is compatible with most automated dispensing system canisters and these canisters can be stored external to the automated dispensing system to complete a large volume or infrequently used medication packaging run utilizing the Auto-Print™ packaging system. Additionally, MPI’s strip packages are well suited for packaging in 30-day strips for insertion into our 30-day shelf box. MPI’s oral solid packages fit most medication carts and furniture; taking up less room than other packaging options.

MPI is uniquely suited to offer our Fluidose™ Series 5 liquid packaging solution to the LTC/EC pharmacy as liquid drug pre-packaging from bulk into a unit-dose package is not currently being addressed by either the traditional blister package equipment vendor or the automated dispensing equipment vendors. The Fluidose™ Series 5 provides an easy to use, affordable solution that meets the needs of the LTC/EC pharmacy to provide all drugs, including liquids in unit dose form to the bedside. MPI also offers cup trays to house multiple doses and colored cups to identify controlled or refrigerated medications.

MPI offers the Pharmacy Accessory Label Printer for ampoule, syringe, vial and other pharmacy labeling needs. MPI has an extensive background and capability for bar code applications for all of our packaging solutions to meet the needs of LTC/EC clients when bar coding becomes preferred and necessary for their pharmacy packaging needs.
