Pharmacy Accessory Label Printers (PALP)
MPI’s Pharmacy Accessory Label Printers quickly and efficiently print accurate barcoded labels to affix on ampoules, vials, and syringes. The PALP is comprised of a desktop printer and MPI’s exclusive Pak-EDGE® UD Barcode Labeling Software, which is offered in two different models to best meet the specific requirements and labeling needs of each facility:
Direct Thermal Label Printer (DTLP)
Our direct thermal printing equipment provides the capability to print six different-sized white custom labels, including white, red, yellow, and orange flag labels.
Thermal Transfer Label Printer (TTLP)
Our thermal transfer label printer provides the capability to print clear stem flag labels only. Two different sizes of clear stem labels are available to meet your ancillary labeling needs.

The medication labels created by the Pharmacy Accessory Label Printer and Pak-EDGE® UD Barcode Labeling Software have the technical capability to accommodate all linear, 2D, and GS1 barcodes. The software used to generate these barcodes was developed exclusively by MPI and is continually upgraded to include the latest advances in barcode technology for pharmaceutical packaging. The software allows for an unlimited number of barcode configurations, which typically include label details that improve patient care such as:
- Product NDC code
- Local expiration date
- Date packaged
